Graffio, designed by Paolo Benevelli and produced by De Castelli, won the GOOD DESIGN®
GOOD DESIGN, founded in Chicago in 1950, remains the oldest and the world’s most recognized
program for design excellence worldwide.
Scratches, engravings, wiry signs mark metal surfaces to tell about old stories. Scratching not only
defines the use of an object, but it becomes a way of materially fixing the metaphors of life.
The scratches and marks are transformed into a quality and a feature of the metal surface.
Imperfections become memories, enhancing the pure essence of material. Left forever on cabinet
doors, the preview of a story that has not yet been shared.
